Hollywood Black - Branding & Creative is a quality custom graphic, web and digital design agency, focused on the Penrith, Blue Mountains and Greater Western Sydney markets.
Established in 2004 by Gina Jaaskelainen, Hollywood Black has earned a reputation for stand out creative work and exceptional customer service.
The name "Hollywood Black" itself evolved out of two core ideas:
- that quality design is indeed glamorous and stylish; and
- quality design is strong, certain and confident - just as black is the strongest colour in density and in impression of all colours.
Thus Hollywood Black embodies the notions of design style and design confidence.
About Gina
As Principal and Lead Designer at Hollywood Black, Gina’s core values revolve around honesty, integrity and follow-through.
Gina is first and foremost a designer, but she is also a highly effective communicator and collaborator.
Having worked as a designer for over 15 years, Gina’s background encompasses visual identity & branding, print & packaging design, and marketing collateral.
During her career, Gina has worked for major organisations in the design, printing, packaging and retail sectors, including Coles Myer Group, Tetra Pak Australia, and STI Printing Group.
She has also worked in a sales capacity with leading advertising agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Singleton Ogilvy & Mather, Blue Marlin Brand Design, and Lewis Kahn Staniford (LKS).
Gina has had the opportunity to work on iconic brands including Coca-Cola, Nestle, SmithKline Beecham, Vitasoy, Berri, Dairy Farmers, So Natural Foods and University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).

Qualifications
Gina has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sydney University, majoring in Fine Arts, Archaeology and French. She has also undertaken specialist study in graphic reproduction, colour correction, photo manipulation, multi-page document design and typography at Ultimo Institute of TAFE Sydney, and Advanced Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator at the Computer Graphics College (with distinctions).
Gina has been a distinction-awarded student of web design at the Blue Mountains & Western Sydney Institute of TAFE.
Gina likes old movies, Deanna Durbin, the Linfox slogan ("You are passing another Fox") and knitting.
